Last month, Channel 4 reported that Amy Parker brought "Hoppy" the Quaker Parrot with her when she moved here from New York.
However, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said the bird is illegal because it can harm crops and native animals.
State officials said she had 30 days to surrender the bird or remove him from the state.
Parker launched a petition but said it wasn't enough to change the TWRA's position.
She has now arranged for "Hoppy" to live at a parrot rescue in Huntsville, AL, and plans to later move there.
