AS the corella population in Bunbury continues to increase, residents believe culling is not the answer.
The City of Bunbury Corella Control Group confirmed in February that there was an increase in corollas in the area and it was due to a reformation of the flock after the breeding season.
The Bunbury Mail Facebook page had a post from resident Sam Lefroy last month with a video of the birds outside his workplace and home.
He said the noise had been going on for weeks and the birds were leaving a mess, making the area unattractive but did not support culling.
South Bunbury resident John Bain said the Corella was an environmental “threat” to the black cockatoo and “urgent management” was needed.
The City of Bunbury sustainability team leader Ben Deeley said the City would be working with other local governments to form a new control program.
