Their numbers are reducing so fast that scientists concern in future they’ll be just stories, once lived on this earthen world. The Cape Gold parrots enlightened many forests, specially “Yellowwood” forests are dying without proper food or proper reproduction. The human society is flourishing at alarming rate influencing normal habitat of many creatures along with birds. Scientists say, we need to save trees to save these parrots.

Flying rainbows: the scarlet macaw returns to Mexico

On April 21, 2013, the first flock of scarlet macaws (of many more to come) was released into the jungles of Aluxes Ecopark, nearby classified World Heritage Site Palenque National Park, as a part of a massive reintroduction project to restore the popular and culturally-significant bird to the well preserved rainforests of Palenque and the rest of its southern Mexico homeland—where the species has been extinct for close to 70 years. The highly anticipated release was the result of years of coordinated efforts between the conservation ecoparks Aluxes and Xcaret, the Institute of Biology of the University of Mexico (UNAM), and the Mexican environmental agency (SEMARNAT).

Parrots seized from Hyderabad's 'fortune tellers'

Image by Subhadip ThakurHYDERABAD: The city's 'soothsayers' seem to be afflicted by a spell of bad luck, with the forest department officials deciding to crack the whip on them for caging birds. In a series of rescue operations conducted across the city, around 22 rose-ringed parrots were seized from these 'fortune tellers' who use these birds to draw customers and supposedly predict their future.
