It is our city's faunal emblem and it gives delight to the host of Canberrans in whose gardens and neighbourhoods it manifests its endearing self. It even lends its name to a long-established and world-respected newspaper column. It is almost our bird-blessed city's best-known bird.
Two persons held with 60 parrots in Bihar
Two persons were arrested on Thursday with 60 parrots from Rampur Check Post.
The area falls in Valmiki Nagar Tiger Reserve (VTR) under Madanpur police station area in Bihar's West Champaran district, a forest officer said.
The forest guards and district policemen intercepted a bus in the VTR and nabbed two persons Md. Akbar Siddique alias Bholu and Md. Sayeed, residents of Patna and West Champaran districts respectively, Madanpur forest area ranger Sadan Kumar said.
