Plea to reconsider corella cull

NO EASY ANSWER: The community is divided over what should be done - if anything -about Old Noarlunga's annual invasion of corellas. Image by Ruth EllisonTHE corella flocks may have left the Old Noarlunga township for the winter but discussion about their impact on the historic township is still thriving.
Onkaparinga Council has received a 133-signature petition from residents asking it to reconsider plans to shoot the first 200 birds to fly into the town when the season starts again in December.
The culling is part of an overall plan to scare the flocks away, with residents complaining about birds making too much noise, damaging trees and leaving a mess with their droppings.
